The maker
Nada — Candle maker · Cairo · in the workshop since 2020
Nada pours natural beeswax in her small Cairo workshop — no paraffin, no synthetic scent. The wax comes from apiaries in Fayoum, and every candle rests for two days before it is wrapped.
“A good candle burns slowly.”

Care guide
Beeswax burns slower and cleaner than ordinary wax.
-
01
The first burn
Let it burn until the whole surface melts, so it doesn’t tunnel down the middle.
-
02
Trim the wick
Cut it to half a centimetre before each lighting.
-
03
Never leave it alone
And keep it away from draughts and curtains.
