The maker
Amm Saber — Carpenter · Damietta · in the workshop since 1979
Damietta is a town of wood, and Amm Saber grew up to the sound of the saw in his father’s workshop. He still picks every beech plank himself, cuts and joins it without a single nail, and finishes it with oil rather than varnish so the wood can keep breathing.
“Wood tells you what it wants to be — you just have to listen.”

Care guide
Natural wood darkens and mellows with time.
-
01
Wipe with a dry cloth
If needed, a lightly damp cloth — then dry it straight away.
-
02
Oil it every few months
A few drops of linseed oil on a cloth, worked along the grain.
-
03
Out of direct sun
And away from strong heat, so it doesn’t crack.
-
04
Don’t leave water on it
Wet glasses leave rings — use a coaster.
